Letter from the founder
House of Lionheart began with my desire for African unity. To understand my roots and connect with those of my heritage as a way of embracing each other through the separation that had been forced upon us. Somewhere along the way, my search for human belonging and spiritual identity intersected, bringing realization that they were seeking the same thing on different scales.
It has officially been a year since I rededicated my life to Christ, and boy has it been a journey. If there is one thing that has stood out among the rest, it is that my desire for unity wasn’t meant to stop at my own lineage, but go beyond.
I have always loved being the middle person—the bridge. The one who could speak the language between student and teacher, scientist and engineer, writer and publisher. It taught me to be fluent in each party so that I could honor their respective messages and ideas while also being able to explain their oppositions concerns on a lower tension level.
And in a world so vast, how could I not fall in love with the culture, traditions, and history of the different individuals I meet!
House of Lionhearts motto is Home to the Pride of Sovereign Minds because that is what God has been teaching me subconsciously my entire life. To be able to converse with others, listen to their truths, understand their struggles, passions and desires, without losing my own.
My foundation is now solid as I recognize my mission to be a bridge of this world and bring together the world’s greatest diaspora—humanity.
House of Lionheart may not be understood by everyone, but we will do our best to understand you.
Being a bridge for humanity is no small task and while I searched for the perfect way to go about developing this creative house, it seems there is no right or wrong way to go about this. All I know is that I can’t do it alone.
But with a sovereign mind and a lionhearted soul, this is me, Jasmine Q. Smith, taking the first step in creating a global call. I am excited to meet everyone whose path I come across along this journey, regardless of whether it is a temporary service or a lifetime collaboration.
Cheers!
